We organized the 2022 meeting of the sturgeon expert group of the Baltic Sea Marine Environment Protection Commission (Helcom). The three-day meeting took place within the sturgeon LIFE project on 9-11th November. Experts from Germany, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Sweden, Great Britain and Estonia participated. Experts visited the Põlula fish rearing center and introduced sturgeons into the Narva river during the fieldwork. Also, a two-day seminar was held in Tartu. Information was exchanged, the current state of activities for restoring the sturgeon population in the Baltic Sea, future plans and opportunities for cooperation were discussed.
