Celebration of LIFE and Natura 2000 day
This year was an excellent opportunity to celebrate the 26th anniversary of the LIFE programme and Natura 2000 network with the festive opening of the revived River Laeva.
On 21st May, a festive event took place, in wich, with all parties involved, we gathered along the restored river, to remember, how we came to such a great task. We also inhabited few thousands of juvenile asps incubated on Haaslava last year. Finally Environment Minister Siim Kiisler cut a ribbon drawn across the river as well. The river is officially open! The positive event found wide reflection in main TV channels and the writing press. |

WILDLIFE ESTONIA
NGO Wildlife Estonia is established in 2000. Our aim is to protect rivers and other aquatic habitats. We care about the nature, biodiversity and fish in particular.

Springs, rivers and lakes are our common treasure. The more natural status they have the more precious they are.

Successful application and implementation of river restoration and fish population status improvement projects. Scientific ichthyology studies with traditional and modern bio-telemetric methods.
