Some sturgeon of suitable size are marked with external tags before stocking, with contact details for reporting sturgeon catches and sightings. As a result of the sturgeon introduction, reports of sturgeon sightings have started to come in from fishermen. If the length and weight of the fish are also recorded when a tagged sturgeon is caught, we can estimate how they fared in the sea, how they fed and recovered. The reports so far show that our stocked sturgeons have been seen in the entire coastal waters of the Gulf of Finland and the conditions for growth are favorable.
