River section at Älevi floodplain re-opened!
The majority of the laeva River restoration work is executed. Fortunately, late autumn has been favourable for executing the work and subcontractor Melior-M has used the time efficiently.
The restoration of the section of Laeva river, situating at the Älevi floodplain, is done! The sediments are removed and the connections opened - Laeva river is running in it's natural meandering riverbed again. Totally about 8 kilometers of the lower course of Laeva river is restored. That is a first and only large scale river restoration work in Estonia. |
